The quest for the presidential ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) continued as Governor Aminu Waziri Tambuwal returned his completed presidential nomination forms to the party.
Deputy Governor of Sokoto state and one of the aspirants to succeed Tambuwal in 2023, Hon Maniru Dan’iya urged the National Workibg Committee (NWC), Board of Trustees, Stakeholders, Delegates, supporters of the PDP and well-meaning Nigerians to support the aspiration of the man he described as “a game changer…as the future of Nigeria is now.”
According to Dan Iya in a statement issued by him:
“Tambuwal as a true party man and the best candidate for the PDP would deliver the party to victory in 2023. Tambuwal’s vision is to build a Nigeria all of us shall be proud of. In his entire public service career, he worked in the Judiciary, worked as a lawmaker and as an executive. The full meaning of the three arms of government.
“As the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tambuwal worked alongside a president and functioned as the engine room of the presidency in the PDP administration.”
He added that “Tambuwal’s experience is cognate, his political sagacity is proven, his nationalist disposition is established, his knowledge of our country is profound and above all he is bridge builder between the North and the South.
“If Tambuwal was given the ticket of our great party, he will surely win the general election and return PDP to power and continue the truncated good work, PDP was doing for the country.
“From the vantage positions Tambuwal held, he understand the challenges confronting our nation today and he have clarity of what the solutions could be.
“Tambuwal is a reformer, a leader per excellent, an acceptable candidate and a reliable aspirant.
Maniru Dan’iya called for the support of Governor Tambuwal’s aspiration to win the PDP Presidential ticket and the general election in 2023.
Dan Iya has been the Deputy Governor for Tambuwal since 2019 and was his Commissioner fo Local Government during his first tenure.
He is one of the contenders for the seat of Governror of Sokoto state in 2023 elections.
