Bandits, in the early hours of Monday stormed Margai and Gadacce Communities in Kebbe Local Government Area of Sokoto State and kidnapped seven persons.

An eyewitness, Shi’itu Buhari, who spoke to Daily Star Nigeria, said that the bandits stormed the village bare-footed around 1 am on Monday, breaking into people’s homes starting from the ones at the outskirts of the town.

Mr. Buhari averred, “They first broke into my younger brother’s house which is in the outskirts of the Margai village, they beat him mercilessly, to the extent he lost consciousness. They intend to kidnap him, but as God would have it, he somehow managed to escape.

“They proceeded to inside the town where they Kidnapped three persons including a father and his son before they proceeded to Gadacce, a neighboring town to Margai, where they also kidnapped four persons making it seven, the total number of kidnapped persons during the attack”.

Mr. Buhari then called on the State Government to support them with enough security personnel to help safeguard their villages.

“We are calling on the Sokoto State Government to please come to our aid by deploying security Personnel to our villages as we have no security base or checkpoints here, the one we have is far away in Kebbe”, he said.

He further commended the Nigerian Army Personnel attached to Kebbe local government for a wonderful job done in safeguarding their villages.

When contacted, the Spokesperson, Sokoto State Police Command, ASP Sanusi, said he was yet to be briefed about the incident officially.
