Kebbi State Governor Atiku Bagudu on Thursday visited Yauri Local Government Area of the state as part of his continuous effort of assessing areas affected by flood in the state.

The Governor addressed flood victims of Tungar Maigoro, Tungar Na-Hari, Tungar Maigoro, Sakaci, Cigumo, Tilo, and Wara who were all taking refuge in an IDPs center in Tilo.

Governor Bagudu sympathised with the victims and promised them that his Government would provide them with Agricultural inputs to embark on dry season farming.

He also offered women in the area financial support and other relief materials such as mattresses, foodstuffs, cooking utensils and other requirements on the Camp.

The Local Government Chairmen of Yauri, Shanga, Ngaski as well as village heads of Sakachi, Hakimi Ango, Hakimin Tilo, Abubakar Mamuda and Women Leader of Gungun-Sakachi, Kulun Mummini expressed their gratitude over “the prompt response of Bugudu to our plight.”

The Governor, in company of other Government officials, also paid homage to the emir of Yauri, Dr. Zayyanu Abdullahi at his palace in Yauri where the emir expressed his appreciation for the visit and appealed for the dredging of River Niger which extends to Yauri and regular maintenance of dams to avoid future flooding.
