Kebbi State Governor, Alhaji Atiku Bagudu, has approved the sum of N2.981 billion for the payment of gratuity and death benefits for the year 2021 to 1,172 verified beneficiaries.

The approval was contained in a statement signed by the Acting Head of Service, Alhaji Safiyanu Garba-Bena and made available to newsmen in Birnin Kebbi on Wednesday.

“The payment is to cover for 1,172 beneficiaries of State, Local Government and Local Government Education Authority (LGEA).

“The latest approval from the governor is part of the determined effort of the Kebbi state government to ensure that all retired workers receive their benefits as at when due,” it said.

The statement recalled that the governor, from 2015 to date gave accumulative approval of over N30,281 billion for payment of gratuities in line with his determined commitment to the welfare of Kebbi State workforce.

“These comprised of N20,105 billion for the period of 2015 to 2018 and another amount of N10,175 billion representing the payments of balances of 2017and 2018 and full payments of 2019 to 2021 verified 3,724 retirees.

“This is to ensure improved general welfare of the retired civil servants of the State in line with the administration’s welfare policy,” the statement said.
