In what may be seen as a bizarre plot twist, a man stole a vehicle belonging to the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Abuja.

The FCT police command, through its Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), DSP Anjuguri Manzah, said the vehicle was recovered from the suspect, one Hamisu Tukur while trying  to escape with his loot.

The vehicle was intercepted by the personnel of the Bwari police division during a stop-and-search operation initiated after a distress call at the FCT police command’s control room.

The FRSC vehicle was reported to have been on duty at the Sky Memorial Plaza, Wuse Zone 5, Abuja, when it was stolen.

“It was following a call received from the FRSC headquarters by the command’s control room that the fleeing suspect was arrested by police operatives from Bwari division during a stop and search operation,” he said.

Items recovered from the suspect were one car key and a white Toyota Hilux-HQ-26RS.

The PPRO assured that the suspect, Hamisu Tukur, would be arraigned in court after investigations were concluded
